Old World
Dressed in white, this Old World kitchen displays a timeless elegance and proves that whites can be both contemporary and nostalgic.

The Old World Kitchen

Dressed in white is this elegant old world kitchen. The soft white finish is subtly contrasted by teal accents throughout the display. The fluted columns are detailed in teal and match perfectly with the massive hutch which stands alone as a separate unit. The hutch is slightly distressed with a crackled finish and is accented by its tops and turnings being finished in a striking cherry mocha stain.

Another grand display of old world cabinetry is the mix center which is tucked away in the corner. The exposed dovetail drawers and flour and sugar bins are sure to bring back memories of days gone by.

Finishing off the kitchen is the sumptuous yet simple island with a massive plank maple top. The island has ample storage as well as truly unique tip out drawer bins which are created to expose whatever you choose to put in them.

Complimenting the visual warmth of the kitchen is the use of the subtle yet striking baltic brown granite top which is accented nicely by the ivory glazed tile used as a back splash.

Another reminder of the structures' mix of old and new is the use of 3" turnings which accent the upper and lower cabinets. As well, massive corbels above the sink area appear to be supporting a major part of the cabinets while actually providing superb visual stimulation.

This old world kitchen truly gives a feeling of timeless elegance and proves that whites, by their sheer simplicity, can be both contemporary and nostalgic.
